Before setting up in my private practice 7 years ago, I had spent 15 years In the NHS just writing medical notes. As many of you will know this style of writing is not the most engaging.
Therefore, I wasn’t very confident at putting together content for social media or my website, let alone doing regular blog posts.
To be honest, I didn’t even know how a blog would help my business until I wanted to work more with self-referring clients than referral agencies. To achieve this I had to raise my profile on social media and optimise my website so it performed well on search engines and started attracting clients looking for a therapist, when I reviewed all my options having a blog became non – negotiable. Here is what I learned
13 Ways a Blog Will Boost Your Private Practice
- Helps clients get to know you, like and trust you.
- Increases self-funding clients
- Improves the Google ranking of your website
- Builds your authority as an expert
- Provides a platform for selling workshops and products
- Increases traffic to your website
- You stand out from other therapists
- Builds a bank of helpful resources for clients
- Improves your reach on social media
- You will get asked to write features for magazines
- Allows you to target your ideal clients
- Helps demonstrate your specialist knowledge
- Get known in your peer group and they will refer on.
I credit my blog posts for my steady stream of referrals even through the covid times and for being asked to write features in magazines such as Women’s Health. You can have a scroll at my blog page HERE
