# EPISODE 40| SHOW NOTES

Happy New year! I had a think about what would be the best topic I could cover for this first episode of 2022 and there’s no competition, if we all prioritised self-compassion this year we would significantly improve our physical and mental health and resilience. The benefits don’t just stop with you it also puts you in a better place to support others. Over these 30 minutes,  I’m talking about why self-compassion is key to good mental health and how to build it for yourself in 2022.

I describe the inner critic and how you can work with it differently, at around 11 minutes and at around 20 minutes, I suggest ways to develop more self-compassion.

One of the videos I mention in this episode and I regularly recommend to my clients is – Brene Brown’s TED talk can be found here – The Power of Vulnerability

I also mention mindfulness as great practice from which to develop a more self-compassionate mindset
