I just needed to write and say a huge and sincere ‘thankyou’ for the EMDR work you did with me on my intrusive and traumatic memory. I know that you asked me to wait and confirm that the change was lasting, but I already knew within myself that it was before I left our last session.
I found the treatment an intense but liberating experience. Aware that I was going to revisit that memory I had a degree of trepidation at the start. However, not only did you very quickly have me feeling naturally more relaxed, but you had me talking about things I hadn’t considered for a long time. What became clear to me later was how these were linked to the memory I’d come with.
I didn’t just make up for three years of being ‘stuck’ with my problematic memory. I saw connections between events and responses that had been hidden from me, and I saw behaviours and habits in an entirely fresh light. All that came as well, and as part of a process that felt natural and at points entirely conversational.
I say I wanted to write and say huge ‘thankyou’, but given the scope and effect of what you helped me to achieve ‘thank you’ can never really do it justice. I can’t speak highly enough about you, and everything that you bring to what you do.
